Education programmes for arteriovenous fistula self-sare in people on haemodialysis

The AVFistula.Care project intends to contribute to improving nursing interventions through the acquisition of arteriovenous fistula self-care behaviours in people on a regular haemodialysis programme. This project consists of several studies with different methodologies, namely:

  1. Exploratory/descriptive studies
  2. Prospective and observational studies
  3. Methodological studies (creation/validation of structured interventions)
  4. Clinical trials (experimental or quasi-experimental)

This 36-month project will allow identifying self-care and profiles of people with arteriovenous fistula and on a regular haemodialysis programme. The structured interventions, education programmes, respective assessments will then be designed.
