Nursing ontology
Language represents knowledge. Ontology is the description of concepts and relationships that an agent or a community of agents should consider. In practice, ontology is a reference model that represents a set of concepts within a field, as well as the relationship between them. Information systems use ontologies. A description of the properties and characteristics of the ontology concepts is necessary to promote semantic interoperability between health IT applications. In the IT area, a prototype is a computational expression of a content model of a given domain. Instructions and restrictions, based on a reference model, structure that expression. A nursing ontology, according to the moments of care design, will have to include four types of information: data resulting from client assessment, diagnoses, aims, and nursing interventions.
Currently, a nursing ontology is not available. In light of this reality, the aim of this project is to represent nursing knowledge into a multilingual ontology (NursingOntos) where the concepts and relationships between them are specified.
Objectives
To define a reference model for NursingOntos;
To define a data model for NursingOntos;
To develop a computer application for the management of NursingOntos;
To specify the integrating concepts of NursingOntos;
To specify the relationships between the integrating concepts of NursingOntos;
To define a computer module for the management of NursingOntos versions.
