The goal of the HfPT agenda is to establish Portugal as a leading global hub for the design, development, and production of advanced solutions in the healthcare sector, leveraging innovation and technology. HfPT will concentrate its efforts on four primary areas: (i) Developing intelligent healthcare solutions targeting the digital medtech; (ii) Establishing a national repository of smart health data to international standards; (iii) Facilitating the expansion and advancement of the clinical studies segment at national level; (iv) Creating solutions that optimize the ecosystem of collection and benchmark of clinical data and healthcare delivery costs.
These objectives will be pursued by a consortium comprising nearly one hundred public and private co-promoters, each complementing the respective technical and technological expertise. They will jointly work within their competencies to attain the ambitious goals, including the launch of over 100 new products, services, and solutions by 2025.
ESEP is actively participating in this initiative with two primary products: NursingOntos – a Nursing Ontology, and e4Nursing – a platform for nursing education.
NursingOntos aims to develop a Nursing Ontology, designed to represent nursing knowledge in a multilingual ontology, defining concepts and their interrelationships.
Its approval and maintenance by the Portuguese Order of Nurses has enabled all systems backend to process interoperable information at a semantic level. Its translation and validation into six languages will the progressive scalability of this technological solution.
e4Nursing is a web-based training platform focused on the nursing care design process, structured around the main stages of clinical decision-making, and utilizing an Ontology-based content structure. Participation in this agenda seeks to gradually expand and validate the solution for the global market.
