Master in Community and Public Health Nursing
The Master’s Degree in Community and Public Health Nursing is part of the ESEP’s post-graduate training policy, within the framework of a strategy aligned with its statutory mission. The course is based on the interconnection between research, teaching and responding to the health needs of the population.
This Master’s Degree has as its reference the Nursing Order Training Plan for specialised training in Community Nursing in the area of Community Health and Public Health Nursing. The Course, which is also in line with the National Health Plan and the UN’s challenges for the implementation of the Sustainable Development and Health Goals, has a strong orientation towards the development of advanced skills, predominantly clinical in nature, focusing on the human responses to health problems and life processes, associated with health promotion, disease prevention and community care, with a view to making evident the contribution of nursing care to the population’s health gains in this area.
The course respects the requirements and principles of analysis of the specialised training in Nursing of the Nursing Order (NO), namely as regards the possibility of later awarding the professional title of Specialist Nurse to those who hold the Master’s Degree in Community and Public Health Nursing. This course will contribute to the training of professionals who constitute critical mass for the development of autonomous and collaborative activities in the area of community health and public health nursing, based on their skills in health planning, epidemiology and biostatistics, and the production and use of the best scientific evidence, among others.
