Project framed in the mobilizing agenda Health from Portugal

CIDESI-ESEP actively participates in several initiatives that aim to establish the E4nursing.pt Project at the national level and simultaneously create the E4nursing.eu Project on an international scale. These communities are focused on NursingOntos and e4nursing products. The overall objective of participating in this project is to systematically scale and validate these solutions for the global market.

Recent studies confirm that the common predictors of quality and safety of care and nurses’ well-being refer to the dimensions of nursing practice environments. In addition, investment in this area has been internationally recommended, given the growing evidence of the impact of nursing professional practice environments on clients, institutions, and nurses.

The work already developed within the NursingOntos research project resulted in versions 1.2019 and 1.2020 of NursingOntos, approved by the CTC (Scientific-Technical Council) of ESEP as a reference for the organisation of the substantive knowledge of the discipline, framed in the design of care.

Chronic disease self-management application

Chronic illness is the most prevalent health condition in Europe. The WHO (2010) defines it as a long-term illness, usually of slow progression, requiring prolonged multi-professional monitoring, usually associated with the use of medication and/or equipment of more or less complex use. It is also a condition affecting personal, family, and professional life, thus requiring the reformulation of previously adopted self-care behaviours.

Perinatal Mental Health and Birth-Related Trauma: Maximising best practice and optimal outcomes

The main aims of this Action are to consolidate, disseminate current evidence and coordinate a joint effort to seek ways to prevent, minimise and resolve birth-related trauma; to optimise emotional and psychological outcomes for parents and families; and to accelerate the translation of that knowledge into best practices that can be shared across Europe to reduce the societal and economic burden arising from birth-related negative/traumatic experiences.

This initiative funded by the EEAGrants Mechanism aims to enhance the knowledge and use of Nursing Information Systems as an integral part of Electronic Health Records in Iceland and Norway by implementing activities aimed at increasing understanding of the importance of the electronic nursing documentation process using the International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP) in both nursing education and professional practice.

In Brazil, from 1980 to June 2016, 842,710 cases of AIDS were reported. In Portugal the incidence is lower but it is equally worrisome compared to EU data. The rate of AIDS in Brazil has stabilized in the last ten years, with an average of 20.7 cases / 100 thousand inhabitants;
